This year's holiday is very different because for the first time since I was form 1, I won't be travelling and performing with my choir. Last year was my last year and I truly miss it. I miss being on stage, I miss the bright lights shinning on my face and most importantly I miss singing with my choir. There's so much to miss and I can really go on and on with it.
After leaving Operafest Children's Choir I have come to realise how much I really enjoyed it. I know I really enjoyed it but absence makes the heart grow fonder and its becoming more and more apparent that I miss it. I remember sitting on the floor and resting while complaining about how hard it is to please our conductor Mrs Kam. Those were the times when we were all so tired and sweaty that we would have given anything to just rest. But looking back now its really such a shame that I didn't take time then to reflect and be thankful for the amazing opportunities.
Ever since joining, a simple and average girl like me was exposed to so many endless possibilities and amazing experiences. I got to travel, perform to thousands of people and more importantly some very important people from the other countries. Its been such an amazing time whilst with this choir and I cannot be more grateful for the opportunities that has been given to me.
Being on stage is the hands down the best time I ever have. I really enjoy the feeling of spreading joy and love through this magical thing called music. Throughout my time in Operafest I have been able to give back to God and raise money for several charities while doing what I love and enjoy. Its been such a surreal time of my life and I'm so glad that I can make a difference in the lives of others with music.
All in all, its weird not having concerts to prepare but I guess everything comes to and end and its time to move on in life. This holiday shall be a new chapter in my life and I shall make the most out of it. Till we meet again. Bye!!!

A younger me. :)
I've been in the mood of reflecting lately. I've realised that as I get older I have began to reflect and think about my past, present and future more. It feels like just a while ago I was graduating from kindergarden and naively started primary school and here I am today just finishing my form 4 year. It feels surreal that a while ago I was so excited to start high school and now I'm about to start my last year in high school in less than 2 months.
I've never realised how time flies but whilst thinking about my future I start to realise how much I've grown as a person. A few years back I was this young girl who was so anxious yet excited to start a new chapter of life which is high school. I was so intrigued by the life people led in their teen years. I do admit I was a ittle off the rails in my second year but after a while I came to my senses and here I am now. 4 A's in my pmr and working hard up till now.
I used to be such a shy child growing up. I would always shy away from the attention. I never liked being under the spotlight and would always choose to be led instead of lead. It was just how I was in the past but after coming to high school I have come to realise that I am able to lead and should not shy away from the attention people give. I even started joining the school choir which later on brought me to a world class choir and it was amazing. It gave me so much more confidence towards my hobby which I would secretly do when I was much younger. I am now able to stand on stage and accept the mike gracefully without fear and shyness.
A younger Junie would never have the guts to take risks and take a different paths from her friends. She would always stick around her friends and follow their every move and decision. She didn't have her own opinions because she was scared to make the wrong decisions and take the wrong path. But that was the past and now she has become this girl who insisted on switching from science stream to arts stream because she knew she had to do it and she knew she couldn't just follow her friend's lead.
Its strange to know that I'll be leaving high school very soon and embarking on a new stretch of my journey in life. Its scary to think that I would need to take an exam that will make or break me in the future. I'm scared, worried and most importantly stressed. Everything seems to be moving so fast at the moment that its so hard to take it all in but I believe in the saying that God does not set these obstacles and things we go through for nothing. Every battle scar left is a reminder of what we've been through and make us stringer people than we already are. So stay strong and believe in God's doing because it all comes with a reason.

The start of something new.
I have come to realise that I only write down the major changes in life when it comes to this blog but I guess its okay because nobody reads it and its more like a journal for me. Its the holidays now and I have been sleeping late, having late and enjoyable breakfasts instead of having a milo and rushing to school like i normally would. Its a nice change and I'm loving it so far.
I've written about my year as a form 4 student but I don't really think I can do it justice by only writing about one post. So being the boring person that I am I have chosen to talk or should I say write about the many friends I have come to know and love since the beginning of this year. Its amazing to think that at the beginning of the year most of us weren't even close friends. Sure we knew each others names and classes but honestly speaking that was all. Besides Vickie and Michelle I have barely know the others. Being a shy person that I am, it took a little while for me to warm up to them but after that it was all good.
I really enjoyed being in the same class as them. If I were to be asked if we would be able to get along so well at the beginning of the year I would definately said no.I especially enjoy how we would all laugh in such an insane way for a little things in life. this year has been so much fun because of these girls and there is definately no shortage of joy and laughter.
It has been my pleasure to be able to be share a class with these insane idiots. I think they are all insanely beautiful, special and no doubt wonderful in their own special way. I'm so glad we're friends and I look forward to being classmates with them again.
You might not see this but I really am grateful for putting up with me. I know I can be such a handful at times, I cry, I grumble and I am a terrible person sometimes. Thanks for always giving support whenever it is needed and being a part of the beautiful memories that I shall cherish for the years to come.

Life as a Form 4 student
Life as a form 4 student has come to an end a few days ago and I can't help but reflect on the time I spot in school. I'm not gonna lie and say it was peachy all the way. There were times where I felt like it was overwhelming and it took so much out of me mentally and physically. Sleepless nights to prepare for exams, arguments between friends, dissapointment when it came to exam results, and most importantly no outlet like I did in the past.
This year has been a year of reinvention and embracing the true me. It has given me the chance to start to realise my true identity. All these years I have been trying so hard to please everyone else and fit the mold that society has set as a rule abiding and bookworm. I have now come to realise that I am no bookworm or science stream student material. Sure.I could scrape an A if i put enough offer but it wasn't me.
Till this very day I have not regreted asking for a change from the teachers. ys. We do get descriminated ,we do get misunderstood as lazy students. There are times when we all feel treated unfairly but with teh support we give each other and words of encouragement. We made it through. I can't even express in words how thankful I am of my friends who stuck by and never gave up on hope.
I believe that God has many reasons when he makes things happen to us. Maybe all these harsh comments are set for me to be more motivated to succeed and prove everyone wrong. Someday, we will make it big. I promise.
Anyway,I now also have an idea of what I want to study in the future and pursue as a career. Its nice having a goal to work towards. It gives me more motivation and determination to make sure I reach it. Hopefully someday I will be able to be a successful interior designer.*fingers crossed*
Last but not least, I have also met, rekindled and gotten closer with my friends. Its been a wonderful year laughing, joking, stressing, crying, studying, gossiping, hanging out and most importantly having a blast. This year has been a year full of laughter and tears of both joy and sadness. Its nice to have a bunch of friends who care and accept you for whoever you are. A big thank you for my dear friends who have put up with my shitty mood swings and terrible attitude.
All in all it has been a year of improvement, empowerment, self discovery and growth both mentally and physically. It might not have been a bed of roses but I it is just a trial we all face in life. I might not like it or think I cannot go through it but God does not create trials that cannot be conquered. Its been a rough year yes but that's how life is. We have to recover and move on strongly.

Heartbreak
Heartbreaks don't only happen when someone breaks up. Heartbreaks signifies an emotional break down of a person towards someone or something. It can happen amongst friends or even family depending on the situation.
This thing that I'm upset about might seem very silly to most people but it means a lot to me. I'm hurt and it makes it worse because you don't seem to know or understand. With all that's going on in my life now I'm really too tired to acknowledge this problem. Whether you think I'm significant or not I really don't care anymore. As much as it hurts me to think you really think of me this way I have no choice but to accept that I am unimportant to you.
The bible teaches us to forgive and forget yet I'm not sure if I really can. I have been putting up with all your dramas and I will not make myself so pathetic and sad for doing it whilst you treat me this way anymore.

Meeting up
Met up with my choir friends yesterday and it was really nice to finally see them. Karaoke felt different with them and its nice to be able to sing with them once again. Hitting high notes and belting out lyrics with them brings back so many pleasant memories. It brings a smile to my face just watching them sing.
Surrounded by music and them temporarily took away all the anxieties I have lately and its almost like old times. Its not very often that people stumble on such great friends who share the same interest and dreams. And for that I am very grateful indeed.
It is times like this that I really do believe the saying music brings people together. So long for now. See you soon =)

Time to reunite
It was the love of music that brought us together and made us friends. Throughout our time together we have travelled to many places, performed and had late night parties in out hotel rooms. We have shared so many fun times together performing and it is truly my blessing to meet them and later on become friends.
This Saturday will be my chance to meet up with them and I really look forward to it. Seriously miss singing with these people so much.

Temperatures run high
Its been an exhausting week and I'm glad its coming to an end. From bad weather conditions to haze and even small arguments amongst friends. Its been such a hard week for all of us both emotionally and physically.
Its been very hot lately and the haze is not helping at all. It has been so hard to concentrate during classes and everyone is having a hard time controlling their temper too.
I hope the coming week would be better or I don't think I can take it anymore. Stay tuned for more updates of my life =)

When decisions have to be made.
Its a scary thought whenever one has to make decisions. As time goes by we find ourselves making bigger and bigger decisions. Decisions that will change our lives forever. It may seem intimidating but everyone has to take that step of faith and trust that we've made the right decision. Trust your instincts and follow your heart to wherever it takes you. And lastly, trust that the Lord has plans for each and every one of us since the day we were born.

New uniform and a new life =)
After being a prefect for so many years I've finally decided to switch my prefect uniform for freedom. Not that being a prefect is very very bad but I sometimes find it hard to cope with all the expectations.
Putting on my prefect uniform everyday signifies the putting on of responsibility, commitment and a billboard inviting all to judge. Every fault is taken into account and judged by everyone. Its a heavy burden to bear and sometimes even suffocating.
Being a normal student meant I don't have to be so perfect. I can be who I am and talk whenever I want without worrying about how people think of me. As much as I used to love being a prefect I think its time for me to take off this heavy burden and move on in life.
I'm thankful for all the wonderful moments I had whilst being a prefect and I'll definitely cherish all the beautiful friendships I've gained all through this years. All in all, Its been a great few years but being the crazy and loud person that I am I guess it would be better that I become a normal student starting from now.

A new chapter in life
Its the start of my form 4 year and I know its gonna be a very different year. Lots of stress, anxiety and decisions to be made. I've made my choice of dropping out of my science tsream class and into arts stream and I feel that I've made the right decision. Mum is not very happy with what I did but she I know she'll understand soon enough.
Anyway, life in my class is pretty much very relaxed compared to the scince stream classes but I know that it won't last very long. Accounts and econs is very easy to study and I'm happy that I can do it. Seni is getting very interesting and I really like the teacher.
School has been keeping me quite busy but once in a while i would feel that something is missing. A part of me is missing. I know that there's a time when we all need to leave something behind but its not as easy. Operafest children's Choir has been such a big part of me. Its something I love doing. I'll always miss it but I guess its time to move on in life. Its hard but I'll try my best and remeber all the beautiful times I had there.

Pmr is over.
Yes its all over and i just feel like the weight on my shoulder has lifted. It just feels great. I haven''t even been myself in like a year because of all the stress levels. Gosh, the power of Pmr. Anyway, now that all that is over I can finally be back with my blogging and social life like I used to. Feeling awesome right now! After all those hardwork of blood, sweat and tears....I finally am able to relax now.
That's all for today. Stay tuned for more of my after pmr updates. =) See ya!

Stressing
Its been a very long time since I blogged. Due to the never ending heap of homework and stuff to study I barely have time to relax. PMR is just around the corner and I never thought I would say this but I am really nervous. Its like what if I don't get 5 A's ? I'm not planning to go into science stream but I want to at least get a few more A's. Stress level in school has been running very high lately, everyone is preparing for the coming trial exam but there is also small numbers of people who don't give a damn and go on talking and not caring. Hopefully I'll be able to pull of my trial exams this time and my parents won't be worried. Oh well that's all for now...I'll see you really soon.

The feeling of emptiness.
I've been feeling so empty and lifeless lately because of the choir thing. I keep on wishing that once I wake up I'll be back singing with all my operafest friends. Its like a very odd feeling cause I always look forward to weekends and performances and all of a sudden I have nothing to look forward to. The empty feeling is nothing like anything I experienced before. I miss the stage, the practices, Mrs kam and all her criticises about my odd way of singing etc, my friends in Operafest and more importantly the wonderful feeling of singing as a whole.
Well you might think I'm being a bit sensitive but all I can say is I really really wish this year would past quickly.I just want to go for practice as usual and all. If it was last year I would have complained that practice is very tiring but now I would give anything just to attend practice like I used to. You might just think I'm freaky but this is the real me. Only now that I realised that this place was a place called home. A place I felt safe and comfortable and be myself.
Why is it that people only cherish things when they loose it? Thinking back of all the past performances that I've done I realised that I really could have done better. If i could just turn back time.....
That's all for today now...Hoping that it'll just past quick enough. =( here's a link taht maybe you'd like to check out. http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=184598358217079&set=t.100000257341465&type=3&theater

Starting of my wonderful year....
School started and at first I was scared but after the first day I was ok again. Well prefect duties weren't very enjoyable cause we don't really know what to do and had to stand still for so long.Sad case....we never stand on one spot too long when we had to duty in afternoon session. But despite standing it was still kinda nice. Then there's always the dreaded older students a.k.a seniors. They're like so much taller than me and I really feel small now.
The teachers that teach my class are kinda strict and I'm a little scared when they ask me to answer questions. But luckily my class teacher was very kind enough.
Anyway, school life in morning session is kinda ok now but waking up at 6 is clearly not my thing.I'm still feeling half dead in the morning.I guess I'll have to get used to it. PMR is this year....I'm still not sure what I'm gonna do...Its a big decision. On one hand I'll have a chance to do what I've always wanted to do but on the other hand I'll have to leave all my friends behind.Still thinking about it.=P
That's all for today and I'll be blogging again very soon so stay tuned.

Crazy-ing about Christian Music.
As you see in my title I'm crazy-ing over Christian Music. Hillsong is awesome everyone! Go listen to it! =)
Schools Reopening soon
Yup we're starting school on Wednesday. And worst of all I'll have to wake up so early T_T. Next year is morning session and I'm really hoping that'll all turn out alright. Gosh its so scary and i'm wondering how next year would turn out. On the bright side I have a few friends in my ex class that I've grown pretty attached to from last year. But sadly they're all guys...so? I'm really hoping that all the girls in my new class would be more friendly and not stick to their own clicks.
Anyway...I'm having more pressing matters now that mum won't let me go for choir practice on Saturday and Sunday. I've tried convincing her so many times yet she kept saying no.This year would be a very busy year for the choir and most importantly they're going to New York in July. I mean how many times can you have the honor to sing in New York. For an asian average girl like me its kinda like a once in a life time opportunity. Why do I have to be 15 this year????Why????? I really really wan to go...
Choir-ing has been my life my all I look forward to it every single week. Its a habit I've gotten this past year. And I'm missing it more and more badly each day. I miss my friends. I miss Mrs Kam my conductor. And I miss singing with all of them so badly. This is something mum doesn't understand. But life has to go on...I'm going to study as hard as I can so I can go back as soon as possible.
Life is not always as I want it so...I'm just gonna live with it and through it. A year is gonna past very quickly. And I'll be back singing very soon indeed. Positive thoughts Junie Chan. =) Anyway, happy new year everyone!!!!!!

Its gonna start
Yup its gonna start soon. Next year is gonna start and I'm gonna have to say goodbye to this year
and move on to next year. Like most people I really want this year to never end. I really want to stay in 2 Meranti and not go to 3 Jati. I had so much fun in class this year with my buddies in class they made me feel so much better whenever I feel sad or stressed out. A very big thank you to all these buddies.
Then comes going to morning session. I want to stay in afternoon session. I just feel so worried and scared for next year. I don't know if there's any girls in my class next year that I already know and can be friends with. Stressnya...And there's also the dreaded PMR!!!!! Argghhh!!! Okokcalm down....deep deep breaths. Ok.
I guess I really have to study hard next year...Especially BC most people I know get D's in BC. Oh gosh stressnya...Plan for next year- Study hard and Study Smart. Gonna stop watching so much tv and online-ing...
Anyways there's always the usual plan ahead's and goals to meet next year.Well let's start.
1. Study hard and not get distracted.
2.Score 5 A's for PMR
3.Go on with choir and singing.
4.Think positive.
5.Make friends with everyone.
6.Pay attention in class and not slack in my studies.
7. Never give up.
Well I think that'll be all for now. So...its time for me to say goodbye to 2011 and start 2012. A last goodbye to all my best times!!!!
I'm back from Miri and Brunei for a few days now but I've been a little busy to blog about my trip to Miri and Brunei. Well as I've done last year I went there with my choir for a few performance and concerts. I was really enjoyable and we all had so much fun spreading the joy of Christmas though music.
We set of for Miri on the 15th and it took us around 2 hours to reach Miri. After taking our luggage and everything we set out to meet the organisers for our concert in Miri and they sent us to the hotel by bus. The performance we did was to raise funds for a club. And We did fairly well on both nights.
Brunei was more fun than Miri as it was a different place. It took a while to reach their but we we're all very fascinated by the different cultures and lifestyles they had there. The Brunei performance is in a church to raise funds for a school.Because the currency there was higher the church members there offered to host us at their houses.
There was lots to see in Brunei. We went on a boat ride along Brunei river and it was very nice. The houses there are built on stilts and its all very old. Wonder what happens if someone fat goes in it...Haha then we went shopping and I bought some souveniers. We also had a performance in an open space which is decorated very nicely.
All in all its been a very nice experience going to this two places. I've learnt a few more things and even known a few people in Brunei. haha I hope I can go on like this forever but i guess there'll be a time I need to stop. But till then I will enjoy every moment travelling and singing with my most beloved choir friends.

Singapore! Well I'm back from Singapore and thought that it might be nice to blog about it. Dad bought us train tickets to get there and let me tell you it isn't a pleasent experience. Its noisy and shaky. And even worse they had to change the cabin in front because of some reason and we were delayed for around and hour. By the time we reached Singapore was around 11 at night.
After coming out from the customs dad was waiting for us and we went to eat something. After that it was time for bed in dad's friend's house.
I'm a little lazy to write all the places we've been to but I'll blog some interesting things I've learnt on this trip and the more unique experiences. Hmmm let's see. We went on a duck tour. they brought us though the city and show us all the very unique buildings and architectures around singapore. There was the Marianna Bay which is a really cool building that has three blocks that act like pillars to hold the top floor which appears to be a ship. =) Cool right?I'll be uploading the pictures real soon. Then there was the durian building. after the land tour we went into the water. It was like a boat ride around the city. We saw the flaoting football field and stadium and also all the interesting buildings along the way.
Then came the Singapore flyer!!! I love it so much! Its like the eye on malaysia just taller and has bigger compartments which can sit 28 people! @@. We could see the whole of Singapore by looking down from there.
Anyway this trip has been very nice. I realised that there is a lot that we should learn from Singapore for instance how to keep our enviroment clean and the way we use the escalator. But however great Singapore has been developed I still like Malaysia. Missed the food so much when I was there!
